Stocks Up Slightly

Stocks Up Slightly!

The stock market showed a slight move in the upward direction today. All because of the news coming out of China. It appears that China will raise caps on their gas and diesel prices. By doing this, the global demand on oil will full back some. China is the biggest consumer of oil in the world. So any move like this will have an immediate effect. Their demand for oil is very high. Which also makes them the highest polluting country in the world. They’re killing all of us by putting heavy toxins in the air. Any way, this news out of China brought the price of oil down $5 a barrel, which is good for us. Hopeful this day will be a start to some good days ahead.

War Budget Agreement

War Budget Agreement!

It seems that President Bush got his way in the amount of funding in the war budget plan.   If your wondering how much, its going to be $162 billion, which brings the total to over $600 billion.  Deals where made to get this past.  Also added in this bill will be a quick emergency flood relief for the Midwest.  The jobless will also receive a 13-week extension on their unemployment payments.  And most importantly, a boost in the GI Bill college for veterans.  I would like to end on this note – it’s about time the Democrats and Republicans finally agreed on something.

Drop In Stocks

Drop In Stocks!

Today was another out of control day for Wall Street. Today’s drop of $131 is mostly related to concerns about the financial sector. And of course, the concerns of the high fuel cost. It does appear that the market is once again going in the wrong direction – down. Has long as our fuel cost remain up, the stock market will struggle. The only thing I’m hoping for is some good news tomorrow. Which could help raise the market back up.

Oil Futures Near Record

Oil Futures Near Record!

Yes, it’s my favorite subject, the price of oil.  I have to be honest here; I’m really sick and tired reporting on the price of oil.  But when it almost hit $140 I just couldn’t believe it.  Just a few months ago we we’re freaking out because it hit $120.  Who wants to bet it will be well over $140 tomorrow.  Oh, Saudi Arabia promise to increase production.  Who they kidding, there not going to increase anything.
