Google Inc. Is 10!
Larry Page and Sergey Brin the founders Google Inc. registered Google Inc. Sept. 7, 1998. They started out with 4 computers and $100,000’s from an investor by the name of Andy Bechtolsheim. If you don’t know who Andy Bechtolsheim is, you do now. Andy Bechtolsheim is one of the co-founders of Sun Microsystems Inc. As the story goes, when he had written the check for $100,000’s to Larry Page and Sergey Brin he made it out to Google Inc. The problem was that Google Inc. wasn’t even a business yet. Larry Page and Sergey Brin had to file paperwork to become a business to cash the check. Once they got passed that the rest is history. They started out in their dorm rooms, then moved into a garage. Here’s a side note for you; did you know the Google once was called “BackRub”? Yup, that was the name of the search engine before they made the move to Google. Anyway, today Google has over 20,000 employees and is worth over $150 billion dollars, in share value. And they know work out of their 1.5 million-square-foot headquarters complex called “Googleplex.” Here’s another side note, Google’s first employee – Graig Silverstein still works there. He’s Google’s technology director and the first ever hired by Page and Brin. Anyway, that’s enough about Google. I do want to end on this, where do you all see Google Inc. in 10 more years? A lot of big company’s grew bigger than they could handle. Will the same happen to Google, only time will tell?
