Going Dark!

Today is the day when all major landmarks, homes and skyscrapers will be going dark. In case your wondering why, today March 28 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m it’s Earth Hour. For this one hour the lights will go out across the world. This act is to get people in the habit of energy conservation. Just by turning of your unused lights and electronics you could be saving yourself a lot of money over a year. And you would be helping the planet you live on.

One place that surprised me that was going dark for that hour was the Las Vegas Strip, which never goes dark. The “Welcome to Vegas” sign is even going to be turned off. I read that this sign hasn’t been turned off since it was turned on. These acts of conservation just shows how important it is to turn your lights off when you really don’t need them on. So join in and conserve some energy today. The impact will be small, but it’s an impact.
