AIG Former CEO!
The former Chief Executive Maurice “Hank” Greenberg of AIG has agreed to pay $15 million to settle a government allegations that he fixed the numbers. He was being accused for the years 2000 – 2005 for inflating AIG’s earnings. He was AIG’s CEO for over 38 years. He was terminated because he refused to cooperate with an internal investigation into his accounting practices. I should also say that his CFO has also settled with the SEC for $1.5 million. I sure hope that AIG goes after them if they received any bonuses based on these false numbers. And share holders should go after them as well. What the SEC should have done was toss both in jail for 20 years. There are more of these crocks out there, hopefully someday we’ll get them all.

Big News!
As most of you know, unless you’ve been living in the closet, Colorado’s “balloon boy” parents are in trouble. I’m not going to name any names in this post, because then they win again. The parents of “balloon boy” had their home searched over this weekend. It’s starting to look like they planned all this out, you know, their flying saucer balloon. From what I read, they called the media, national guard, then 911. If I had a balloon that got away from me with my child in it the first people I would call is 911. Any normal person would call 911 first. It’s clear, they did this to get national attention. Their stunt could have seriously hurt someone, or even killed someone. If the police knew that their flying saucer-like helium balloon was empty the would have shot it down a long time ago. This thing could have crashed into an area causing people to get hurt. By the parents stating that their boy was onboard they knew they wouldn’t shoot it down. What they did is one of the worst things you can do. They caused panic, their just lucky no one got hurt because of their hoax.
High Value Legal Counsel!
Look, times are hard for a lot of people right now. People are extremely vulnerable, and making a lot of bad choices. The choices their making are based on emotions, which makes it easy for people to scam them. Most of these scams are happening to people looking to make loan modification to their high interest loans. Most of these people seek no legal advise, even worst, attorneys with poor judgment. Here’s what I would recommend, just my opinion here, but you should seek a law group who is in good standings with the BBB, as well as a member of the bar. Anyone else less could become a disaster. Someone to consider, and according to their website, the American Residential Law Group just might work out for you. Their a member the bar, and a member of the BBB. I read on their site that their a law firm that is client focused, and that you will get high value legal counsel. So here’s a piece of advise, before you make any big changes to your loans make sure you seek an attorney, a well researched attorney. And if you live near the American Residential Law Group give them a call, they just might be what you need.
