What Americans Are Saying

What Americans Are Saying!

Americans are starting to feel that President Barack Obama isn’t doing what’s best for America. Most Americans are upset with the national healthcare package and the growing budget deficit. His approval rating has dropped 12 points just over the last few months. However his approval rating is still in the high 50’s. But then again President Bush’s approval was in the 50’s in his first year as well. I’m sure Obama’s approval will end in the 30’s as did Bush’s, it’s all part of the job, you can’t make everyone happy.  And of course it has an error of plus or minus three percentage points.

Unemployment Benefits

Unemployment Benefits!

I was just reading that the U.S. House of Reps. is looking to provide another extension to unemployment benefits. These added weeks are going to be on top of the federally funded extensions of up to 53 weeks. From my understanding, states pay the first 26 weeks, then the government picks up the extra weeks that Congress approved in legislation last year. Now I understand families out there are really feeling the bad economy, but come on, where is all this money going to come from? Then when the extra weeks are up, and these people still haven’t found a job then what, give another 13 weeks? Now this new bill is only for states with a high unemployment rate of 8.5% or higher, so every state won’t be included, yet. I think the government is taking the motivation out of people to get out and look for a job. I read that the recession is showing signs of coming to an end, so we don’t really need this bill, but it will pass, no one in the House or Senate will vote it down. Hopefully this recession will end very soon and we all can get back to living the normal life again. And most important, hopefully we’ve all learned something from this recession.

Only The Rich

Only The Rich!

Did all of you know that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donate Stallworth was convicted of DUI manslaughter? And did you know that he only spent like 30 days behinds bars for it? I think is also lost his drivers licenses, not sure though. He also paid the family off of the man he killed because of his wide partying. It just comes to show that if you got the money you can get a way with just about anything. It’s kind of funny how our legal system works isn’t it. Mike Vick got caught and did a few years behind bars for dog fighting, as well as killing a few dogs. Stallworth kills a hard working family man and he gets 30 days in jail. This is so wrong, he should have gotten the max. But if you got the money and the right lawyer you can do what ever you want.

Not Funny But True

Not Funny But True!

Back in 2008 Fredric J. Baur – 89, the designer of the Pringles potato crisp packaging system was buried in one of his cans.  Well, not all of him.  Part of his cremated remains went in the Pringles container and two urns.  One urn was buried with the Pringles can and the other was given to a grandson, said Baur’s daughter, Linda Baur.  I have only one thing to say on this.  Mr Fredric J.Baur’s can idea was one of those greatest inventions, and will probably live on forever.
