I’m asked a lot what is the best way to market online. I always answer; word of mouth is the best marketing tool. The next best marketing tool is referrals. With there being so many search engines out there, how do you really find one that works for you? One of the most popular online hangouts’s, MySpace is getting into the online download business. Their nearly 120 million users will be able to listen to free music, as much as they want. One of your choices when deciding where and how to use your advertising dollars online is a pay PPC Program.  These services are offered by a lot of company’s out there.  Here are a few of the big ones – google.com, Yahoo’s overture.com and msn.com.  There are many more out their, but these 3 cover a HUGE part of all search results.  Using the PPC Programs do work, but come with a few problems.

The first problem – cost, it’s not cheap to use these services.
The next problem – fraud, there are many people out there that join these programs as partners and place codes on there sites to receive your ads.  When your ad shows on their sites they click them, which generates income for them.  Your funds account goes down, and there’s goes up.  The site that I had stated in this post do have click fraud tools in place to monitor the problem.  I’m here to tell you, some get through the system and never get caught.  So, if you do choose to use this service – try to watch your traffic stats and report and funny looking traffic related to your PPC marketing campaigns.
