What A Ride!
All the votes have been counted and we have our first black President of the United States of America. America has spoken and we made Barack Obama the 44th President of the United States. This race was the most historic race for the White House in America history. We had the black nominee for President and first female candidate, Sarah Palin for VP of the United States. And let’s not forget about Hilary Clinton, she was almost the first female candidate for President. And I would like to say that I’m so glade this race is finally over, 2 years is to long. And no matter whom you voted for its time for a fresh new start. America is the greatest nation on the face of this planet, and it’s time we act like it. We need to come together as one nation. We need to set aside on petty differences and unite around our new President. Not because it’s the popular thing to do, but because it’s the right think to do. If we fail at uniting as one nation we will remain in this free fall we’re in and things will only get worst. So it’s time to unite and begin our fresh new start.
Polls Closing!
With polls coming to a close it will now be a wait and see game. I still believe this election could go either way, and I’ve never felt that way in past elections. Now I know all the polls are pointing to Obama, but you just can’t really count out McCain just yet. Most people really never tell the truth who they just voted for or are going to vote for. So as far as I’m concerned, who cares what polls say. I wish they would make a law against polling people on whom they voted for or going to vote for. If you think about it, Obama is smashing McCain in the polls, so this may motivate people to come out and vote for McCain. And most of Obama supports will stay home thinking they don’t have to vote, because someone else will. So if there was a law against polling will never know until all the votes are counted. Am I wrong for thinking this way, I don’t think so. I think more people would vote to make sure their candidate wins. Anyway, polls are closing right now and the results will be coming in. If you didn’t vote, you can’t complain for the next 4 years.
Zero Percent!
This week the central bank lowered its interest rate that banks charge each other on overnight loans to 1 percent. The main purpose for this drop is to get banks to start lending. Now what a lot of people don’t realize is that this rate fluctuates. Even before the Fed cut the rate on Wednesday it was already below 1 percent. And that’s because banks are so scared to lend money to anyone. If banks remain on the same course for this month the rate very well could fluctuate to zero percent. And this is what most analysts feel is what is needed, zero percent interest rates. If dropping to zero percent doesn’t jumpstart the economy what is next? There is a lot more options that the Fed can do to start the economy. So this isn’t really a main concern. Japan dropped their interest rate to zero percent for 5 years. So maybe we should do the same to get things moving. And then focus on other options if needed. We’ll get through this, American history has show Americans can battle anything.
World Leaders!
I was just reading that the world leaders would be meeting Nov. 15 to come up with a way to fix the problem we’re in. It’s no longer just an American problem, it’s everyone’s problem. Supposedly a lot of economists think it’s still going to worst before better. I think so far they, world leaders haven’t done enough to make things better. This whole idea of bailing out banks was a crappie idea. As you can see, it hasn’t work. What the bailout money is doing is just letting these fat cats on Wall Street keep their jobs for another few years. The bailout so far has done nothing for Main Street, and we’re the one’s who done nothing wrong, except pay our bills. Maybe we should start acting like the crocks of these major banks and maybe we’ll get bailed out. In the area where I live thousands of people are losing their jobs while these companies laying them off are getting tax breaks. To me that sends the wrong message to the people of this country. Anyway, the summit will be hosted in Washington and there will be leaders from Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Canada and the United States, the European Union China, Brazil, India, Russia, South Korea and other major economies around the world. Any the new President of the United States will be there. The only thing we have is to hope for the best.
